2 Weddings And More Weddings To Come

Nancy and I are at that age where all our friends are starting to follow suit and getting hitched. So we are becoming ever so busy on the weekends these days attending weddings. This past weekend we had to attend two weddings. The first wedding was in San Pedro at 3pm. This was her UCI friend Janelle's wedding. This was my first Catholic wedding and let me tell you...Catholic weddings are LONG. I've been to some long winded Korean weddings, but Catholic weddings take the cake. I do have to say Catholic weddings look pretty nice though because their churches are generally prettier. Unfortunately, we had to leave immediately and was unable to attend Janelle's reception because we then had to drive to Irvine immediately to catch the 2nd wedding at 5pm. Nancy and I were so hungry after the 1st wedding we decided to make a pit stop at Jack In The Box. We went nuts...we ordered a sampler trio, 7 piece jalapeno poppers, large curly fries, and large Diet Coke. We killed it all before we got to Irvine. I thought we might be 15 minutes late, but we pretty much made it. The 2nd wedding was her friend Julie. Nancy had met Julie when she used to do her summer internships at Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles during her law school days. This wedding was short and sweet. Thank goodness. It had humor and some tears...even I got a little wispy eyed. Maybe the tears were of joy because the wedding was short...hahaha...just kidding. I know Julie a little bit so I guess the wedding was more personal to me. So as soon as the wedding was over Tu and I hit the open bar and started drinking. Tu is the husband of Kim who is also a LAFLA friend. I missed Tu and Kim's wedding due to my work schedule and I really didn't get to hang out with them too much at Dylan's birthday because there were just too many people to attend to. This was the first time I really got to hang out with Tu and I have to say I really enjoyed his company. It's a good thing when you can hang with your wife's friend's husbands because sometimes you meet ones that you just can't relate to and you have force yourself to small talk with them. Here is Sara, Nancy, and Kim(Tu's wife). All friends from LAFLA. This one is of Haily, Jennifer, and Nancy. Haily is also a LAFLA friend. Lastly, the groom and bride (Andrew and Julie) and us. Gees...Nancy and I were soooo stuffed after this reception. My back started to ache...I'm pretty sure this was due to my over eating. I have to pace myself better. We have many more weddings to go so I better eat less or else I'm going to become a Wedding Fatty. We wished we could of stayed longer, but we needed to get back and pick up our kids from the baby sitter. 2 weddings down and many many more to go.

Wow! I didn't know Julie got married! Please tell her "Congratulations!" from me. Also, is the groom the same Andrew who used to work at LAFLA?

The Jack In The Box pit stop was a nice touch. BTW, I have boycotted all Catholic weddings, I ask my Catholic friends to drop their faith for a day if they want me to attend cuz I am not down with torture any more.

Chiori, I will pass your congrats on to Julie. She is moving to Seattle very soon. So sad. Julie's Andy is not the same Andrew that used to work at LAFLA. I took another look at the picture John posted and I could see why you asked that. There are resemblances. Anyway, hope pregnancy is going well.
