Turning 35

On July 16th I turned the big 35. It was a day of mostly reflecting and wondering what the future had in store for me. I don't feel the itch of a mid-life crisis, but I did wonder how all these years went by so quickly. I have no idea how 35 years went by so quickly. I loathe the idea hitting 40. As far as my acting career I have a few highlights, but nothing to really brag about. My personal life I have my wife and two boys to be extremely thankful about. I just wonder what my next step will be. I have come to realize that being smart, talented, or lucky is not worth much. Persistence and working hard trumps everything. All the other things are kudos, but ultimately you have to take those gifts or tools and make something of it. Otherwise, you just have a great concept and nothing to show for it.

I think Calvin Coolidge said it best..."NOTHING IN THIS WORLD can take the place of persistence. TALENT will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. GENIUS will not: unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. EDUCATION will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. PERSISTENCE and DETERMINATION alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'press on' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."

Here a couple pics of birthday.

Happy birthday man. Lets hook up again soon. I agree with your statement about persistence. The way I look at it is that there are a lot of people that have more talent, intelligence, insight etc.. however, the way I figure I compete is that there won't be too many people that out work or out hustle me.
